_ GLOBAL APOCALYPSE _
2012 : Our Future at Work TODAY

While the future is exceptionally fluid places like Las
Vegas, Monte Carlo, and Atlantic City would not be as
vibrant without some degree of predictability. Then
again those renowned hot spots function through
structured probability. Such that every card turned and
every roll of the dice has a measurable probability and
hence a means of control. On balance the global society
functions in much the same way, but every so often a
wildcard is thrown. Be it a natural disaster, a man-made
mishap, a chance science discovery, or shifting
politics.
That is the way of the world discounting God's hand in
shaping events. But TODAY increased levels of religious
extremism are shaping events. The hands of "men" giving
rise to religious tensions unseen for more than three
hundred years. This is the backdrop to the 2012
prophesy. And so where will this lead? What events will
shape the future? And most importantly WHEN?
Hopefully Dr. Know's regular readers can see that
predicting the future forms an integral part of each
article. Perhaps not as overt as this though always
prominent. And given my unconventional business
background delving into the future remains a bit
problematic since some readers are acquainted with the
origins of Doctor Know. Allowing others "in" may darken
even my most obvious conclusions. As a matter of
psychological fitness, however, it is probably better to
confront ones various quirks.
It started twenty-five years ago with client-based
research on holistic health that eventually morphed into
paranormal studies. After that I found the psychic arts
to be an interesting form of entertainment, but never
considered such efforts serious despite having marketed
those talents. Now, however, I want to make it clear
that such ENTERTAINMENT has never played a role in my
scholarly work. On the contrary I want to KNOW the
world. Not find shortcuts. Still it's from this portion
of my background that this article was derived. Vis-a-
vis paranormal investigations, the study of religions,
archeology, cultural anthropology, and the like. So
here's my take on the year 2012.
The precursor to 2012 came at the turn of century when a
new millennium began. Though not universal the (western)
calendar pasted into the 21st century a decade ago. Much
of the fascination came from an existential angst
brought on by the potential for a massive computer born
disaster coupled with religious prophesy. "Y2k" as this
angst became popularly known never materialized. In fact
many analysts predicted the non-event as early as
September 1999 stating that the much of computer
software had been fixed. Still there was the religious
aspect that continues to cloud the future. So like the
Year 2000, 2012 has become a date of anticipation.
By coincidence my company changed names in the Year 2000
to note a growing body of work and to acknowledge my
most significant achievement: The Information eQuation
.. IQ ... Y2k ... IQ-2k Information Services and despite
the second name change in less than ten years my focus
remained constant: find and structure the sum of human
knowledge. Doctor Know simply came as an extension after
every avenue proved unprofitable. At first I marketed my
entertaining abilities on this web site, but quickly
realized such efforts would detract from my more serious
intent.
Now Dr. Know is used to process CURRENT EVENTS for the
purpose of predicting the FUTURE. In short I am
aggregating current and past events along with an
extensive knowledge base to produce logical conclusions
formed under the basis of deductive reasoning and an
apriori epistemology ... simple analysis, in other
words, no shortcuts.

TODAY is August 31, 2010 >>> Events past and present
continue to shape the future that can be widely
predicted. But the year 2012 is a bit more special. It's
a date calculated more than 700 years ago by the Mayans
to be a time of upheaval. Or more correctly an end to
civilization as noted in several documentaries. Then
again there was only one civilization to the Mayans ...
THEM. So given the media hype surrounding 2012 the year
will MOST LIKELY end the same as Y2k -- a non-event.
On the other hand 2012 is a road block. A disruption in
the standard flow of time when millions of hearts may
collectively skip a beat. And for good reason because
much of it has started ... TODAY ... 2010.
January 1st 2010 started a new decade. Perhaps not as
profound as the new decade started in the Year 2000, but
new nonetheless. Time in America, it seems, runs in a
cyclical fashion similar to the documented cycles of the
ancient Mayans. Therefore extending the metrics of the
past one-hundred years a new decade is a time of
beginnings. Most decadal timelines do not become
apparent for at least a year and often two. Take
September 11, 2001, for example, the START of a decade
"War on Terror". Here are other examples:
1900 BEGINNING of the "Modern Age"
1914-1918 WWI
1920 BEGIN (boom - Roaring 20's9
END (boom Oct.1929 ) stock market crash
BEGIN = 1930 the Great Depression
1938 Germany attacks Poland
END (bust)
Dec.7,1941 - Pearl Harbor attack - U.S. enters WWII
BEGIN = 1950 Cold War (Korean War)
1952 - Baby BOOM & economic BOOM
1961 - Space Age begins & Vietnam War
END (boom) END (space race) 1969 - moon landing
BEGIN (bust)
1971 - stagflation
1973 - Yom Kippur War - Arab Oil Embargo
END (bust) 1980
BEGIN (boom)
1982 - Reaganomics, MICROCOMPUTERS
END (Cold War) 1989
BEGIN (regional wars)
1990 - Gulf War (Iraq I)
.. Bosnia, Somalia, East Timor, Darfor
1992 - partisan politics takes off
2000 - the new millennium
Mar.2001 Stock market crash - Tech wreck
BEGIN (War on Terror) 2002
END (boom - housing) Sept-Dec.2008 Banking Crash
2010 - the Great Recession
2012 - CONVERGENCE
2013 -- 13 -- 13 -- 13 -- black hole
Consequently 2012 remains an important junction along
our current timeline. It will be a time of beginning.
The events are coming together even now. But the
beginning of what? To explore this question we must
first look how RECENT events are setting the stage for a
convergence.
The BP oil catastrophe, U.S. leave Iraq, U.S. mid-term
elections, the re-emergence of recession fears, and now
a new Mid-East peace initiative.
And so goes 2010 and the growing blackhole surrounding
the year 2012. I call it a blackhole because there is
really no way to see around it. Hollywood has produced
its vision, most notably, "2012". The cast, storyline,
and visual effects reminiscent of a 1970s disaster
flick. But little else of note. The History Channel, by
contrast, has produced an entire series called "The
Nostradamus Effect" centering on the theme of 2012. As
usual, however, Hollywood and its surrogates have
favored sensationalism over substance. Their concensus
being "natural" disaster.
My predictions do not include natural disasters nor
extraterrestrial (asteroid) cataclysms and I do not
consider the ancient Maya belief as credible reference
towards future events. I do however believe that given
the U.S. decadal cycle of events along with the current
religious extremism something of significance is LIKELY
to happen in the year 2012. So let's look at the
religious element as it stands TODAY.
First and foremost Islam must address radicalism along
with terrorist activity. Until this happens there will
be no peace in the world. Alternatively the Christian
faith is hamstrung by prophesy and with so many waiting
for humanity to destroy itself what incentive is there
to find a peaceful solution? But wait! There is no
Jewish Temple so Christian prophesy need not be
attended. In fact the Temple Mount is currently occupied
and revered by the Muslim faith as the point at which
Muhammed ascended into heaven. Consequently there will
be no Jewish temple without a major war. And without
this cornerstone of prophesy any disruption in the
region will remain incidental to the Apocalypse.
Concurrently Judaism is constrained by borders and
Zionist expansion into the Occupied Territories does not
send a message of peace. Nor does the announcement of
increased uranium enrichment by Iran. So just like the
past sixty years the region remains a tenderbox waiting
for a match.
Will Israel make an incursion into Iran? Or will it be
trouble in Iraq? Perhaps a terrorist plot will enflame
the forces of war. All are equally possible and equally
frightening. Yet regardless of what happens all three
major religions have reason to dread the sands of time.
And it's possible 2012 could be the time when the sands
run out. War in the Middle East is the first and most
possible scenario. And the first test is here TODAY as
U.S. combat troops are withdrawn from Iraq.
The real catalyst for the convergent events of 2012
comes from four election cycles around the globe: the
United States, Russia, Israel, and Mexico all have
presidential elections in 2012. And it is a very safe
bet that the next election will be the nastiest in the
last one hundred years if not of all time.
So you see, no magic. Just simple arithmetics. The odds
of probability. For the past one hundred years the
United States and much of the world has gone ten for ten
in disruptive starts to each decade. It's time to start
hedging those bets. Just ask Dr. Know ....
From the beginning of recorded history sooth-sayers like
the Oracle at Delphi, Nostradamus, and the intriguing
Edgar Casey have given psychic predictions that fall
into the category of the paranormal. But the highly
publicized date of 2012 blends psychic prediction with
religious prophesy. And given a religious fervor not
seen in three hundred years who knows where this will
drive the hands of "men"? Furthermore the limited number
of scholarly documentaries on the Maya reveal only that
an extremely precise calendar exists ending their "Long-
count" in the year 2012. That coupled with the Maya
belief in astrological cycles created the 2012
phenomena.
Now discounting the very remote possibility that aliens
endowed the Maya (note the movie "Knowing" (c)2009) with
foreknowledge of a future global cataclysm, none will
occur. Put succinctly the Mayan vision for 2012
pertained only to the Mayan culture not to the globe. So
while there may be some coincidental correlation there
is no reason to believe that any disruptive events in
2012 will be directly related to the ancient Maya
prophesy.
