I started THE ULTIMATE GAME series as a literary construct. A means to provide a common point of reference and add levity to a typically stale topic ... correction, topics: politics and religion ... So in the spirit of levity and within the context of THE ULTIMATE GAME this post was mostly written in the third-person vis-a-vis my "avatar"; my public persona.

First, I'm not a "gamer" and not active in social media. My wife is huge into Facebook and often uses a cartoon "avatar" to send messages. The bulk of my digital footprint remains on this website with its varied articles, posts, and vast array of information topics. As DR-KNOW I have posted a few thousand YouTube comments to commercialize topics found here. That digital footprint creates a lasting "avatar". A surrogate of sorts for public interaction.

In person I'm typically found in "uniform": a high visibility orange T-shirt (invariably grease stained), blue jeans (also typically grease stained), construction boots, and baseball cap. Pretty standard for folks in construction. Afterwards given my varied landscaping activity and "errands" it's just as easy to extend this attire at night and into the weekend. Therefore any change to this "uniform" requires reason.

Giving it some thought now, it's funny how much of life seems like a game of dress-up. When I'm in a suit and tie, for example, I could be mistaken as a man of leisure with my confident demeanor, military haircut, and permanent tan. As both an INFORMATION SPECIALIST and construction worker, clothes are a tool to complete a job. Yet a great many consciously "dress" to intimidate or manipulate.

People who "dress" to manipulate without being obvious have the superpower of style that few possess. Fortunately my "avatar" has a competing superpower: immunity from intimidation or manipulation by clothing. At all levels ... all levels ... even the absence of clothing.

If you really think about it, the real measure of people takes time and may be the opposite of their first impression. Therefore, of the many special powers to provide your avatar, "immunity" from manipulation by clothing can be very handy. What you wear is entirely another matter. My clothes leave little doubt towards my lack of means. But do they say I'm of little "worth"? The people most susceptible to "manipulation by clothing" would be quick to make that connection. Others who reserve judgment generally see deeper and have some immunity from manipulation by clothing. This superpower is dependent on having the patience and desire to "look" inside.

Having immunity from manipulation by clothing generally starts at a young age, but with some effort anyone can gain this power. At the other end of the scale, the hardest "power" to obtain is invulnerability. Or what gamers refer as the power to "heal". Sadly my "avatar" seems to have lost this power and was taken to the hospital emergency room for Covid-19. I have done well with minor "ailments" in the past, but they are increasing with severity and regularity. Advanced players in THE ULTIMATE GAME know the issue of spirituality comes into play with healing power. But it's good to understand the science.

With the first Covid vaccine dose already in my left arm, I'm anxiously awaiting the second. In doing I'm helping myself and others. It's a win-win. I sympathize with those having health conditions that prevent vaccination. Though I sometimes think it would be poetic justice for the disease to visit others choosing group affiliation (politics, religion) as a reason not to get vaccinated. Then again, that kind of thinking is counter productive. Especially when I play THE ULTIMATE GAME like the "white hats" in the TV series "Westworld". Best to keep that kind of thinking bottled up.

Going now from the hardest power to obtain to one of the easiest. The power of stamina provides the path to obtain other powers ... give your avatar this "power" and you will have energy to burn ... you will be like the "Energizer Bunny" ... and keep going and going and going!
