It's been a long time since I've seen this movie, but one thing remains timeless ... men thinking with the wrong part
of their anatomy. Given this timeless generality, it's amazing how far some men will go to get a fine piece of... action.
An obvious weakness that can be easily manipulated by an astute woman.
Playing "hard to get" can work in certain circumstances, but turning on the "heat" can turn the brain of some men to mush.
Sometimes a woman will use both to "control" a man. In this EROTIC DRAMA Matty Walker (Kathleen Turner) knows that Ned Racine
(William Hurt) will be "putty in her hand". With everything in place Matty says a meaningless "good bye". Closes and locks the
door.
Instead of leaving Ned walks around Matty's house to watch her through the windows. Mindful of Ned's continued presence Matty
lures him towards the sliding-glass door. Still safely locked inside, Matty turns on the "heat". Ned, consumed by lust,
smashes the glass and runs into her welcoming embrace.
This sex filled dramatic thriller features strong performances that would stand unchallenged for decade. The 1992 EROTIC DRAMA,
"Basic Instinct", also featured strong performances, a bit more nudity, and a similar storyline. While 1980s sex sported more
suggestion than skin, "BODY HEAT", is still a must-see movie.
