[ CRIME DRAMA ]
-- romance, action
some skin
starring: William Hurt

GOOD ++ : as rated by DR-KNOW

set: Moscow, SOVIET RUSSIA

The cold war with the Soviet Union has been over for three decades. So the irony of having a Russian (William Hurt) as the hero has lost its potency for younger viewers. Even then, GORKY PARK is a movie for all ages. It's an excellent example of how far people will go for freedom, love, and greed.

storyline: A triple homicide has been discovered in Gorky Park (Moscow). Even more horrifying, the snow covered bodies have no faces. In no time the fast moving investigation proves the victims were shot with same ammunition used by the KGB. Subsequent clues lead Arkady Renko (Hurt) to a beautiful actress and a painful encounter with an American policeman disguised as a tourist.

The pervasive frozen landscapes create a dramatic chill to this wonderful crime DRAMA.
