Minimal dialogue makes this foreign film easy to watch. Moreover the screen writer does not weigh the movie down trying to explain everything which elevates this from fair to OK. A couple of "kareoke" scenes added mystery the main character - the "police chief", but the time would have been better spent on Ryan Gosling's character.

This movie has some violent bloody action, but the best action comes from a short fight sequence between Gosling and the "police chief". The cover art features an extreme close-up of Gosling, however Kristin Scott Thomas stole the show. She rocks the "bad girl" look and appears about half her age.
