Written, directed, and starring Lena Duham, this series is a smart and entertaining look at pop culture and the difficulties of entering adulthood. Season 4 is now in production though I am only now finishing season 1. So far, unlike many SitComs featuring New York, this series has not used the city as a "character". Instead New York is a city where the main characters, a group of mid-20s young women ("Girls"), live, work, and experience the angst of "growing up".

Extensive sexual references and nudity figure heavily in a story of a small group of young women finding their identity and place in life. So far everything (acting, cinematography, story, ect.) in this series has been first rate. Congrats to the young Ms Dunham!
